Artisan alternative: Artisan AI competitors compared, with the prices they publish
Artisan sells Ava, an AI BDR, as a scoped plan you price on a sales call. If you want a number before that call, five competitors put one on the page. This is what each charges, what it meters, and the honest cases where Artisan is still the better buy.

The short answer
The Artisan alternatives that publish a price are AiSDR at $250 to $2,500 a month, Salesforge's Agent Frank at about $499 a month plus a sending plan, Regie.ai at $49 a month for Pro, HubSpot's Prospecting Agent at $1 per recommended lead, and Saleswoman at $149 to $999 a month flat. Artisan itself publishes no figure.
Which one fits depends less on the drafting than on one question: do you need the contact database Artisan bundles? If you already know your accounts, you are paying for data you will not use, and every option in the table below gets cheaper. If you do not have a list, Artisan's bundle is doing real work and the comparison is closer than the price gap suggests.
What Artisan actually sells, in its own words
Before comparing anything, the baseline. Everything in this list comes from Artisan's pricing page and its published product guide, not from a review site.
Plans
Team (about 2,500 leads contacted a month), Scale (about 6,000) and Enterprise (custom volume). Each tier reads "Pricing scoped on your plan" with a Talk to sales button.
How the price is set
Sized to your lead volume, mailboxes and dialer seats, then built with you on a sales call. Credit based. No dollar figure is published on any tier.
Data
A B2B database Artisan describes as 250M+ verified contacts, with enrichment and intent signals in the same platform.
Sending
Ava sends in your reps' names from your own sending domains, handles replies and books meetings.
Controls
Approve before sending, lock tone and calls to action, set banned phrases, set escalation rules.
Integrations
Bi-directional Salesforce and HubSpot sync, custom webhooks, Slack.
Phone
An AI dialer for your reps, sold as an add on per seat.
Security
SOC 2 Type II, SSO and SAML, audit logs.
The part that decides fit
Artisan's smallest named plan is sized around roughly 2,500 leads contacted a month. That is a volume motion: a big addressable market, a bundled database to fill it, and a dialer for the reps who follow up. If your motion is 200 or 300 named accounts you already know, the plan is sized for a different company than yours, and that mismatch is the most common real reason people search for an Artisan AI SDR alternative.
Why teams look for an Artisan AI BDR alternative
Four reasons come up, and only one of them is about the writing.
There is no price until the call
Every Artisan tier says pricing is scoped on your plan. A founder with a $500 a month budget cannot tell in ten minutes whether they are in the market, so they book a demo to find out they are not. A published figure answers that in one page load.
The bundle includes things you already own
Data, enrichment, sequencing, warmup and a dialer in one platform is efficient if you have none of them. If you already pay for a contact source and a CRM with sequences, part of the plan duplicates tools already on your card statement.
The volume floor is high for a small list
About 2,500 leads a month is the smallest named tier. Teams selling into a narrow vertical often have a total market smaller than one month of that allowance, and a volume plan pushes you toward contacting people you would rather not.
Autonomy is the default setting
Artisan describes Ava as autonomous by default and adjustable by design, and the controls are real: approvals, tone locks, banned phrases. Some buyers want the reverse default, where nothing sends until the claims in it have been checked.
Artisan AI competitors compared: price, meter and data
Six options side by side. The price column is what each vendor prints on its own site. Where the vendor prints nothing, this page prints nothing.
| Tool | Price published | Published figure | What it meters | Contact data | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Artisan (Ava) | No | Quote only | Leads contacted a month, mailboxes, dialer seats | Yes, bundled | A team that wants data, sequencing, a dialer and an AI BDR from one vendor |
| AiSDR | Yes | $250, $900 or $2,500 a month | AI researched contacts a month | Also works with your own lists | A known monthly contact volume, with mailboxes and HubSpot sync included |
| Salesforge (Agent Frank) | Yes | About $499 a month, plus a $40 to $80 platform plan | Agent add on over a flat sending plan | Separate subscription | Autonomous email and LinkedIn outbound, if you will assemble the stack |
| Regie.ai | Yes | $49 a month for Pro, then quoted | Credits per action | Enrichment drawn from credits | One person testing AI outbound with no contract |
| HubSpot Prospecting Agent | Yes | $1 per lead recommended for outreach | HubSpot Credits, on top of a HubSpot subscription | Works from your HubSpot records | A team already paying for HubSpot that wants one fewer vendor |
| Saleswoman | Yes | $149, $399 or $999 a month | Flat monthly, never per seat | No, bring your accounts | A known account list where every claim in the email has to be defensible |
Figures come from each vendor's own public pricing page. Software pricing changes, so confirm before you sign. The longer breakdown, including 11x and Qualified, is on ai sdr pricing.
Which Artisan alternative fits which team
These five are not chasing the same buyer, so ranking them one to five would mislead you. Match the meter to your list instead.

AiSDR, if you want the same kind of product with a price on it
AiSDR is the nearest like for like swap: an autonomous AI SDR that researches, writes and follows up, priced by researched contacts. Solo is $250 a month for 200 contacts, one user and three mailboxes, month to month. Explore is $900 for 800 contacts and Scale is $2,500 for 2,500, both on quarterly terms. Native two way HubSpot sync is on every tier, Salesforce on Scale.
Check before you sign
Explore and Scale are quarterly. Month to month flexibility ends above Solo.
-
Salesforge, if you want autonomy and do not mind modules
Agent Frank is an add on over a sending platform that costs $40 or $80 a month billed annually. Salesforge's own published summary puts Frank at about $499 a month billed quarterly, or about $416 on an annual plan. Email infrastructure and lead data are separate subscriptions, so the fair comparison with Artisan is the assembled total, not the headline.

-
Regie.ai, if one person is proving the idea
Pro is $49 a month for 5,000 credits, self serve with no contract, and enrichment that returns nothing costs nothing. It is the cheapest honest way to learn whether AI outbound works on your segment. Team workspaces, shared agents and CRM sync sit behind a quoted Enterprise tier, so growth brings you back to a sales call.

-
HubSpot Prospecting Agent, if you already pay for HubSpot
HubSpot charges $1 for each lead the agent recommends for outreach, drawn from HubSpot Credits at 100 credits a lead. It researches accounts, drafts in each rep's voice, and runs in a review mode or a fully autonomous mode. The catch is that the price sits on top of a HubSpot subscription, so it is only cheap if you were paying for HubSpot anyway.

Saleswoman, if the accounts are known and the claims must hold up
This is the one we build, so weigh it accordingly. It researches each prospect's own site, writes the first touch, and marks every factual sentence as sourced or unverified. An unverified claim holds the send. Solo is $149 a month with one mailbox and HubSpot or Pipedrive sync. Team is $399 with three seats, five mailboxes and Salesforce. It sells no contact data and does not dial.
Check before you sign
No database. If you have no list yet, buy the list first, from anyone.
When Artisan is the right buy
Said plainly, because a page called Artisan alternative that never finds for Artisan is an advert, and you would be right to discount it.
You have no list and a large market
A bundled database of the size Artisan describes, with enrichment and intent signals attached, removes a whole purchase. Every cheaper option on this page assumes you bring the accounts. If you cannot, the price gap narrows fast once you add a data subscription.
Your reps dial
Artisan pairs the email agent with a dialer that briefs the rep before a call and writes the follow up after. None of the email first alternatives here replace that. If calls are half your motion, compare Artisan against a dialer plus a drafting tool, not against a drafting tool alone.
Security review is a gate
SOC 2 Type II, SSO and SAML and audit logs are what procurement asks for first. A $49 self serve tier will not get through that review, however good the drafts are. Enterprise buyers should price Artisan against other vendors that can pass it.
Nobody on your team will own outbound
Artisan's plans come with CSM support in a shared Slack channel and a strategist on Enterprise. If there is no one internally to run campaigns, the service layer is worth paying for, and a lean tool will sit unused.
Switching from Artisan without losing six weeks
Copy and sequences move in an afternoon. The slow assets are the ones nobody lists during the evaluation. Settle these three before the old plan ends.
If the real alternative is a human team rather than a tool, the numbers for that are on sdr outsourcing.
Renewal date and notice window
A plan scoped on a sales call usually carries a term. Find the renewal date and the notice period first, because deciding to leave a month too late means paying for both tools.
Sending domains and mailboxes
Artisan sends from your own domains, which helps: the reputation is yours. Confirm the mailboxes and any secondary domains stay in your registrar and your workspace, then keep volume low for the first weeks on the new tool.
Contacts, replies and opt outs
Export the lead lists you built from the bundled database, the reply history, and the suppression list. An opt out you can no longer produce is a compliance problem, not an inconvenience.
Where the CRM record lives
Artisan syncs with Salesforce and HubSpot, so your history should already be in the CRM. Check it is, before cancelling. Here, every sent email is logged back on the contact with the claim check attached, which is covered on crm automation.
